Today, I will be doing a watercolor of a scene from Up, the Pixar film made in 2009. For those of you who don't know, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Pixar managed to make a movie that portrayed life in it's entirety, but did it without the sex, the violence, and the swearing that most movies today rely on to show colorful emotion. They made a movie that showed a lifetime of emotion, things that we as people experience throughout many, many years, and they did it in an hour and a half. Not only that, but they did it while following a fun, entertaining, emotional plot that is easy to follow. Up is a movie is full of life, of friendship, of love and loss, of adventure, of dreaming, of colors, of humanity. Well, enough of the sappiness! Watercolors, here I come!!

Okay. Another stupid journal that you probably won't be reading, but what the hell. I have nothing to lose. I haven't posted anything is... oh God. A long, long time. But I did just doodle something, so maybe I'll post that. But anyway, Mass Effect 3. Feelings? Oh I've got feelings alright. I enjoy a good shooter game, and hell, I love Halo, so imagine (and this is a really twisted interpretation on the game, because I can't describe it to it's full justice) a new Halo game with the strategy of Battlefield, the roleplaying goodness of Final Fantasy, the rush of Modern Warfare, and you get Mass Effect 3.

Oh. And Did I mention Assassin's Creed III? No? Okay, so here's the thing: Native American holding a bow (not a crossbow, no. A bow.) and a tomahawk? Double wielding weapons? I'll admit it, when I heard Indian assassin with George Washington? I wanted to slap someone, particularly the person who came up with that idea. But after watching the debut trailer? I'm kind of curious. The outfit gets to me, because it's not exactly the coolest thing, but I think I like where Ubisoft is going with this. It has some possibilities, and I have to have a little faith in my favorite video game franchise. Who knows? But you'd better believe I'm going to the midnight release, and you can count on me becoming "mysteriously sick" for the week after it's release.

Okay, though most of you might not know Lindsey Stirling, she's a gorgeous dancer and skilled violinist, and I was inspired (it's rare these days, okay?) to do a water color of her! But, my incredibly thick headed art teacher wants me to do some boring little trinket, sketch it five times, then waste my time doing an oil portrait of said object. He preaches that artists need to do their own thing, be their own person, to see the beauty where others do not, and to be independent and unique. But how can I do this by sketching a tube of chap stick five times, and spend two days painting it? I want to do my own thing, to be my own person, and to make gorgeous portraits that speak to me and others. And no offense to the chap stick department, but I really think that wasn't what they were going for when they created chap stick in the first place. Maybe I'm being ridiculous, and I just need to do the damn thing for the grade... Damn you, high school, and your meaningful lessons, too.
